Tour de Côte d’Ivoire: Gasore Hategeka wins stage 5

Gasore Hategeka yesterday took victory in the fourth stage of the Tour de Côte d’Ivoir after a keenly-contested sprint to claim the first win for Team Rwanda in this year’s race.

It was another great performance for the in-form rider who will be hoping to keep his form ahead of this year’s Tour du Rwanda which runs from November 13-20.

The Benediction Club rider has already stated his plans to lay down a marker at race “This is a fantastic win for us.My teammates did a great job today.We wanted to use this race a preparation for Tour du Rwanda as we want to win again and,in that regard,today was a good day” said Gasore

In the race for overall, Zahiri Abderrahim finished safely in the main field to keep his leader’s jersey while the Rwandan duo of Joseph Biziyaremye and Gasore
Hategeka are fifth and sixth, two minutes and 26 seconds from race leader.

Today’s fourth stage is a rolling 80-km route in the city of Dimbokro
